Eyelash Extensions Vs Artificial Eyelashes

Reign Lashes

We know those ladies that are just naturally blessed with long, luscious lashes? Or better yet, the guys? It’s totally not fair. While most of us have to put on coats of mascara to get the fluttery, voluminous eyelashes, they tend to get that “I woke up like this” look naturally.

Well, if you are not naturally blessed with long lashes, and love long, fluttery lashes then fortunately, there are plenty of options out there to make your eyes look more glamorous with full and voluminous lashes. The two foremost options are False Eyelashes and Lash Extensions. Both options are great but your choice, budget, schedule, and personal taste alters your preference or selection.

What’s the difference in both the extensions? And, which option is better?

1. Self Application vs Professional Application

You can apply falsies all by yourself by applying the glue over the lid and placing the false lashes directly above your natural lash. Though it takes a little bit of practice but should be fine once you try it out a few times. Semi-permanent Lash extensions, on the other hand, must be applied by a professional at an eyelash extension salon. Unlike false lashes, lash extensions are applied one by one onto each strand of existing eyelash. The entire application process takes 1 to 2 hours for the completion, depending on how many lashes and the kind of look you require.

2. False eyelashes can be more pricey in the long run

False lashes are available almost everywhere, you can buy them online or at offline stores and costs between Rs.150 to even Rs. 3,000 depending on the brand and quantity and must be changed daily or after a certain number of uses, also you can’t sleep with fake lashes on as it can cause eye infections.

Lash Extension costs about Rs. 3,500 to Rs. 10, 000 depending upon the look and style one opts for a one-to-one lash extension for the first time and as low as Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 2,000 for your monthly retouch (at Reign Studio).

However, if you are planning on getting long lashes, semi permanent eyelash extensions can be a more value-for-money option in the long run as compared to falsies as you won’t need to buy a new pair of synthetic eyelashes for the prominent events or every time you have to go out and look presentable, which definitely is  everyday.

3. Lash extensions are lighter in weight than false lashes

The weight usually depends on the type of lash extensions and false lashes you use or the brand and quality you go for, but on average, lash extensions are considered lighter than false lashes. False lashes are more often made from low quality artificial fibers that are heavy while lash extensions are closer to human lashes in appearance and are light in weight comparatively. Hence, you may not even feel like you are wearing anything on your eyelids.

4. Lash extensions require MORE maintenance than falsies

False lashes are easy to remove and as long as you do not rub your eyes while wearing it, the look and your eyes are absolutely fine. But lash extensions require you to stay away from oil cleansers or cotton pads since they can damage the lash extensions and well, it’s money down the drain. Also, a lash-friendly mascara is recommended to be bought if you still prefer to have on mascara.

5. Lash extensions can last for upto 6 weeks while false lashes only once

Lash extensions are slightly more durable and long lasting than false lashes when treated with caution. Lash extensions may last for up to 6 weeks whereas most falsies can only be used at most a couple of times before they lose their shape or strands and no longer stick well. Unlike false lashes, there is no fear for your lash extensions to unstick during an event or lifting up at the inner corners when you are out.

6. Lash Extensions look more natural

As its name suggests, falsies look fake. Eyelash extensions look more natural in their appearance as compared to the falsies, however good the quality be. That is because lash extensions are made from mink hair and other high quality materials that give a light and feathery appearance. False lashes are usually made from substandard or lower quality materials so it looks more unnatural.

7. Convenience of Lash extensions  Look

For day to day life, eyelash extensions are more convenient as you go to the salon or studio to do it once or every few months, and you are set till your next refill or touch-up. With false lashes, you have to painstakingly do it every day before you set out for work. Although you do have to be patient and  sit for a couple hours or more in the salon in lieu of getting those gorgeous, fluttery eyelash extensions. This cuts down your getting ready time by quite a bit, especially if you are one who wears false eyelashes everyday, and is advisable in the long run.

In a nutshell, both eyelash extensions and falsies meet particular needs and are awesome for different reasons. But eyelash extensions undoubtedly win the game with everyday’s presentation convenience, zero time consumption, longer durability, and the aesthetic look it provides.

Book your appointment at Reign Studio and get those long and fuller sets of eyelash extensions with amazing results at the earliest.
